Interac© Flash Transactions being Declined

Our Member Card® debit card supplier has recently informed Kindred of an ongoing technical issue with the tap feature on our cards.

Occasionally, when cardholders try to use the tap (Interac Flash) feature on their debit card, it will fail to work. When this happens, we recommend that members insert their card and use the chip-and-pin feature to complete the sale. Your card will work when you insert it and use the PIN at the same terminal.

This issue is a result of a miscommunication between the terminal and the card. There should be no complications in completing your purchases using the PIN-pad. Also, there is no security risk or compromise from a tap failure; the sale will simply not be completed using that method.

We are working closely with our debit card supplier to resolve this issue in the near future and will update this notice when more information is available. We regret any frustration or inconvenience this situation may cause. We do not currently have a timeline for when the issue will be resolved so, please monitor kindredcu.com and social media for updates as they become available.
