Kindred Credit Union to offer Digital Lending

Kitchener — Kindred Credit Union (Kindred) is pleased to announce the launch of a new fast and convenient way to apply for loans online. Kindred’s Digital Lending is available through a streamlined platform hosted by the credit union’s partner, thirdstream. This new online lending solution will allow Kindred to reach more people who are in need of fast and fair lending solutions.

Whether someone needs credit quickly to deal with an unexpected expense or they’re trying to get higher interest credit card debt under control, “Kindred’s Digital Lending offers a quick solution to an immediate issue,” said Ian Thomas, chief executive officer. “Plus, Kindred offers much more. We’re inviting Ontarians who wish to connect their values and faith with their finances to experience Banking with Purpose wherever they’re at. That means we’ll meet members wherever they are on their financial journey. We want to help people get on the path to a brighter financial future.”

Nick Savva, Kindred’s vice president, credit strategy and underwriting, adds: “Our new digital lending platform is a hassle-free way to apply for credit and receive funds quickly. By offering fast and fair loans online, we’re committed to helping people take control of their finances.”

Currently available to those who are not yet Kindred members, individuals can apply for a personal loan (fixed or variable rates), a line of credit, or overdraft protection linked to a new credit union chequing account.

Keith Ginter, thirdstream CEO, also highlights the convenience of Kindred’s Digital Lending. “I’m especially excited about the way the platform allows new Kindred members to apply for a loan, then open a chequing and savings account, all in one session. This means the cash can flow straight into their new chequing account upon approval,” Ginter explains. This convenience, added to Kindred’s commitment to offering both fast and fair digital lending solutions, makes “thirdstream proud to collaborate with a forward-looking credit union like Kindred.”

Existing Kindred members are invited to continue to contact their local branch or the Member Contact Centre to discuss a lending solution that fits their needs. Taking this launch as a starting point, we expect to provide members with access to digital lending in the future, alongside our growing array of online solutions that include digital membership opening with thirdstream, a new website, and refreshed online banking.
